A man who was stabbed to death ‘three times to the chest’ in broad daylight has been named.
Anis Omar Zen, 19, died after a fatal stabbing on Monday (September 4) at Masefield Avenue in Stanmore.
Emergency services were called after 4.50pm and the Harrow local was found with stab injuries, the Metropolitan Police said.
Despite the efforts of officers and paramedics the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
His family has been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
A post-mortem examination is due to be held on Thursday (September 7).
Police say a 19-year-old man was arrested near the scene on suspicion of murder but has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
A woman, 60, who was at the scene shortly after seeing Anis in what appeared to be a fight with another man, said she held Anis’ dying body in her arms as paramedics instructed her over-the-phone to give him CPR.
She said she believes he was “stabbed three times to the chest” and recalled the terrifying moment as she tried to help him before ambulances arrived.
Later she consoled the victim’s mother and assured her someone was by her son’s side in his last moments.
Detective Chief Inspector Laurence Smith, said: “I am urging anyone with information to come forward and contact us. This murder happened in broad daylight, and I’m certain that it would have been witnessed by people who are yet to speak with officers.
“We are carrying out a review of CCTV footage but I would also ask that if you have a video doorbell, or were driving in the area with a dash cam, please check the footage.
“A crime scene will remain in place over the coming days and we are grateful for the co-operation of residents.
“The motive for this murder remains unclear at this time. We are determined to find the person responsible but we need your help.”
