Pensioners enjoyed a knees up celebrating Oktoberfest in their care home.
Care UK’s Buchanan Court, in Sudbury Hill, was transformed into a German beer hall with staff dressed in traditional Bavarian dirndl outfits for an authentic experience.
A special menu was laid on inspired by the famous beer festival, including salami, frankfurters, stollen and frikadeller – German meatballs – and German beers were on offer.

Pianist Franz Black came along to teach residents traditional German songs.
Resident Patricia Haley, aged 86, said: “The chef provided a wonderful array of food, and it was an enjoyable event with everyone dancing, singing and embracing the different cultures we have in the home.”
Esther Adams, home manager at Buchanan Court, added: “Everyone had a wonderful time at our Oktoberfest themed party, trying new food and drinks, having a sing-along to new music and learning more about the history of the German festival.
“Here at Buchanan Court, we’re keen to encourage residents to try new things and stay connected with the world around them.
"We’re committed to ensuring our home is a welcoming place for everyone – one where all cultures, interests and traditions are celebrated."
