Harrow brought an environmental message to London’s New Year’s Day parade with a float adorned with rubbish bins.
The borough took part in the annual parade in central London with the theme ‘save Harrow, save the planet’.
A green float bearing two giant hands holding a yellow flower and painted rubbish bins was followed by litter-pickers in high-vis vests.
The parade snaked its way down Piccadilly towards the Mall, before finishing on Whitehall close to Parliament Square.
Former Harrow councillor Husain Akhtar watched and filmed the parade held on Monday (January 1).
He said: “This well-established London feature brings together the diversity community – colourful cultural performances were a delight to watch and film”.
Other north London boroughs which took part in the parade included Barnet and Brent.
