A group of litter pickers have taken on the challenge of cleaning up every street in South Harrow.
After successfully tidying all streets in Wealdstone in 2023, the Harrow Litter Pickers group joined the country’s biggest mass-action environmental campaign - the Great British Spring Clean.
Group leader Casey Dalton said: "Actively caring for where you live is something to be very proud of, we’re all just local people doing what we can to make Harrow a cleaner and brighter place."
Gareth Thomas, MP for Harrow West, added: "It’s great to see residents of all ages involved in this project.
"From primary schoolers to the retired, there is an incredible amount of work that the Harrow Litter Pickers voluntarily do to clean up streets."
The annual nationwide litter-picking campaign is in its ninth year, run by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy.
Last year, the national effort collected more than 400,000 bags of litter from public spaces.
With the charity celebrating its 70th anniversary, they are optimistic about beating last year’s total.
Keep Britain Tidy’s Chief Executive, Allison Ogden-Newton OBE, said: "However, you choose to mark our 70th anniversary this Great British Spring Clean, your efforts will make a huge difference to the environment on your doorstep."
