Pizza joints across north London will be shutting down as global chain Papa John’s plans to axe “underperforming” locations.
The pizza giant, which operates 524 locations, announced that 43 restaurants will stop trading by mid-May.
And 16 of these are in London – many of which are specifically in north London.
This includes:
- 207 Cricklewood Broadway, Cricklewood, NW2 3HS
- 403 Green Lanes, Harringay Ladder, N4 1EU
- 9 Hendon Lane, Hendon, NW4 3JS
- 42 Joel Street, Northwood, HA6 1PA
- 35 Green Lanes, Newington Green, London N16 9BS
Other branches within the capital include Ruislip, Bromley, Coulsdon, East Dulwich, Mottingham, Peckham, Penge, Putney, Upminster, Whitton and Wimbledon.
The company has not confirmed how many staff will be impacted by the closure.
Investors were warned in January that it planned to close low-performing restaurants to improve profits.
Chris Phylactou, managing director at Papa Johns UK, said: "Our priority is our team members, who will be fully supported throughout this process.
"Our goal is to work with impacted team members and attempt to find redeployment opportunities where available.
"We understand the impact this will have on our team members and are committed to supporting them during this time."
