An 18-year-old man has been left seriously injured after a double stabbing near a park in London.
The incident happened near Kennington Park in Cooks Road at around 4.30pm today (July 26).
Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found two males injured.
They were taken to hospital for further treatment.
The 18-year-old sustained serious injuries and his condition is currently being assessed.
A 17-year-old was less seriously injured and he has been arrested in connection with the incident.
The families of the two teenagers have been informed.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at around 1630hrs on Friday, 26 July, to a fight in Cooks Road, SE17.
“Officers attended along with ambulance colleagues. Two males were taken to hospital suffering stab injuries.
“One of the males – aged 18 years – sustained serious injuries. Officers await an assessment of his condition.
“The second male – aged 17 years - was less seriously injured. He has been arrested in connection with the incident.
“The families of the two teenagers have been informed.
“Enquiries continue to establish the circumstances, led by CID officers responsible for policing Southwark and Lambeth.
