A murder investigation has been launched after a man was fatally stabbed in Harrow.

It comes after police were called to Sussex Road just before 4.40pm on October 30 by the London Ambulance Service with reports of a man injured at an address.

At the scene, a 48-year-old man was found with knife wounds.

He was taken to hospital where he later died at 2.35pm on October 31.

His family has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.

A 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after he was taken to hospital for treatment for minor injuries.

He remains in custody at a north London police station.

Det Insp Luke Hampton said: “This is a complex scene with multiple people living inside the address.

"We have made an arrest and our enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing.

“At this early stage we believe this to have been an isolated incident and there is no apparent risk to the public.

“A man has lost his life and a family has received the worst possible news. If you have information please don’t hesitate to get in touch.”
