A man has been arrested following reports of vehicle break-ins at a service station on the M25.

Police were called at 10.48am today (November 26) to reports of a group breaking into vehicles at South Mimms Services. 

Officers, supported by the National Police Air Service, attended the scene.

To help the search for additional suspects, road closures were enforced between junctions 23 and 24 of the M25 but have since been lifted.

One man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is on the way to custody for questioning.

Police continue their efforts to trace any other individuals involved.

A spokesperson for Herts Police said: "Police were called at 10.48am today (Tuesday 26 November), following reports of a group of people breaking into vehicles at South Mimms services. 

"Officers are in attendance alongside colleagues from the National Police Air Service and, due to outstanding suspect(s), road closures were put in place on the M25 at junctions 23-24. 

"These have now been lifted. 

"One man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is on the way to custody for questioning, and enquiries continue to trace potential further suspects."
