STUDENTS have turned out in their hundreds to pick up A-level results at campuses across the borough today.
Harrow College students flocked to its Harrow Weald site, in Brookshill, to find out the grades that could decide what they are doing for the rest of their lives.
Syed Hussain, 20, of Streatfield Road, Queensbury, said: “I did quite well, I got an A and three Bs and I want to get into maybe Hertfordshire or Brunel for university and do business studies.
“I never expected to get these results, I was hoping for at least Cs and in the exam I didn't do that good so it's a relief to get it.”
Temiremi Egenti, 18, from Hendon, said: “According to the college I did well but not according to the universities. I got three Bs but I needed to get two As and a B.
“I felt upset but hopefully I'll still get taken in to university.”
While for some the day held disappointment, for many the marks will be the first step to a degree which could set them up for a well-paid career later in life.
