A GREEN politician is still fighting a supermarket over parking problems which he says put the public in danger.
Shahrar Ali, of Brent Green Party, says Asda lorries park outside the chain's Wembley branch, forcing pedestrians to walk in the often busy road, in Forty Lane, to get round them.
He has been campaigning to stop the problem for some time and says he met with managers late last year, when he claims they said they were looking for a way to tackle the problem.
He said: “We are disgusted that this is still continuing – they simply need to comply with the road markings.
“The transgressions still occur. I saw one just the other night. It was in mid-December we had our meeting and we produced photographic evidence for them.”
Mr Ali says delivery lorries regularly park up outside a set of gates in front of the store while waiting to get in, where there are double yellow lines.
He says the opening of Ark Academy, in nearby Wembley Park Sports Ground, has meant parents walking their children to the school have had to negotiate the problem.
The Harrow Times has contacted Asda for a response and is waiting for a reply.
