MORE than 150 tonnes of salt were dumped on Harrow's roads yesterday and this morning in a bid to keep traffic flowing.
Harrow Council workers made seven trips around the borough between 3pm yesterday and 5am today, dumping 165 tonnes of salt.
The extensive gritting efforts have helped ensure major roads in Harrow are clear and bus services have not been affected by the snowfall.
The council has been stockpiling salt since last February, when the capital was hit by extreme bouts of snow.
While many local authorities were caught out and ran out of grit, Harrow's supplies were enough to see it through the adverse weather.
