WASTE collections at homes in Edgware and Stanmore have been cancelled today due to the snow.
Harrow Council has scrapped the usual collections of brown bins because of driving conditions, with a promise to collect the waste from affected homes on Thursday, December 24.
Council workers are attempting to collect blue bins, for dry recyclable materials, and green and grey waste bins, also in Stanmore and Edgware.
However, if they cannot get to homes because of the roads conditions, the council has said it will return "when conditions improve".
The cancellation of services could leave residents in affected areas with overflowing bins in the run-up to Christmas.
The snowfall last night has also forced the closure of ten schools in the borough.
