MORE than 200 jobs could be facing the axe after a Harrow-based construction firm went into administration.
Lancsville Construction Limited, which is based in Greenford Road, Sudbury, was taken over by administrators yesterday after failing to find a solution to its growing cashflow crisis.
Attempts to refinance the company proved unsuccessful, and now representatives from Vantis Business Recovery Services have been appointed as administrators to try to salvage what they can from the ailing firm.
The company, which is owned by the Harrow-based Henry family, is responsible for several major construction projects across London and the Home Counties, including the restoration of the home of the English National Opera and the building of a new flagship Ramada hotel in west London.
It has been trading for more than 30 years, and in 2008 posted a turnover of around £140m.
The fates of the jobs of Lancsville staff, and of ongoing contracts the company is involved in, still remain unclear, as does the future of Henry Construction Ltd and Henry Cranes Ltd which were also placed into administration.
