HARROW Council is in the running to win an award for most improved council of the year by a government magazine.
The Local Government Chronicle (LGC) Awards, to be held in March, has nominated Harrow as one of five councils shortlisted for the award.
Councillor David Ashton, leader of the council, said: "This is an excellent result and shows that Harrow is getting better."
Michael Lockwood, chief executive of the council, added: "Could I take the opportunity to thank staff for the hard work and commitment over the last year, without which, this result would not have been achieved."
