PUPILS from a Pinner school are flying the flag for the borough tomorrow in the annual New Year's Day parade in central London.
Nower Hill High pupils have built a replica of a Bristol Fighter II, which was flown by Harrow hero William Leefe Robinson when he shot a German airship during World War One.
It has been mounted on a bicycle and will be the centrepiece of Harrow contribution to the parade, which starts at Hyde Park Corner and makes its way to Parliament Square.
The pupils will be joined by the Merrydowners Morris Dancers and The Temple Drummers, and they will be led by Councillor Eric Silver, Mayor of Harrow.
The Harrow delegation will be collecting money during the parade for the mayor's chosen charity, Easy Riders Wheelchairs, and The Alzheimer’s Society.
Cllr Silver said: “It is great that we can once again be part of this prestigious parade.
“We hope to get people from across the borough coming down to support Harrow’s entry into the parade.”
