A KINGSBURY bar will go out “with a bang” on New Year's Eve before closing in 2010.
Tonky Bites, in Kingsbury Road, will have its send off on New Year's Eve with a night of R'n'B, funky house and cheese, featuring DJs Stripes and Ska.
Tickets cost £17.50 in advance or £20 on the door but include four free drinks.
Nik Chawda, of Tonky Bites, said: “We're not really trying to make money, it's to have a good send off. We're just trying to make a good night of it.
“There's a lot of people we know who have had a good time at Tonky's – we are just trying to go out with a bang and make it the best night it can be.”
He told the Harrow Times the credit crunch was a factor in the decision to close but said the owners want to pursue new projects.
The bar will be taken over by a new company, which will focus more on food, and Mr Chawda said they have “good experience” in the field.
He said: “I think we've had a good run. We are now trying to pursue a few different projects. It was meant to be a learning curve. We want to pursue more private bookings and a banqueting role.”
The night starts at 8.30pm and goes on until 4.30am. To book call 0208 204 7000.
