A FUGITIVE who found fame through a social networking site says the police have towed away two of his vehicles.

Craig “Lazie” Lynch, 28, formerly of Edgware, was handed a seven year jail term for aggravated burglary but escaped from Hollesley Bay Open Prison, in Suffolk, in September.

He has been taunting police through updates on Facebook, where he has close to 30,000 fans.

This morning he uploaded a status saying: “Bad news. Police have just towed two of my vehicles away on trucks and ransacked my business and confiscated all materials needed to run the business, stating to one of my employees that the money from my business is funding my lavish lifestyle whilst on the run.”

He added: “ I can tell you all now. I was going to hand myself in,15th Jan, well, not now.”

Lynch says money from his business has not been funding his lifestyle.

His fan base is still growing, with two songs dedicated to him on video sharing site YouTube and t-shirts baring his face on sale on eBay.

The fugitive, who described his fans as “Team Lynch”, said: “You guys are big in my thoughts right now. I have never felt so gracious in my life.”

Suffolk Police are still appealing for help catching him but refused to comment on details published through his Facebook page.
