MORE than two thirds of Harrow residents turned out to vote in this year's General Election, it has been announced.
The General Election turnout has been confirmed as 67.5 per cent, which is around 2.5 per cent above the national average.
In the local polls, the turnout was slightly lower at 65.1 per cent, and figures just released show 74 per cent of all postal votes were returned – a high percentage.
Headstone North was the ward with the highest percentage of voters coming to the polls – 74.3 per cent - while in Harrow-on-the-Hill ward 59.5 per cent of residents cast their vote.
The winners in the Harrow East and Harrow West constituencies are due to be announced shortly.
