LABOUR are making gains in the Brent Council elections, with the Lib Dems shedding seats in Kilburn, Tokyngton and Queens Park.
The party, currently in opposition, has snatched seven seats from their rivals while losing just two, creeping towards the swing they will need if they want to seize power.
The Lib Dems won a majority of six in May, 2006, not enough to govern by themselves but enough to form the dominant half of a coalition with the Tories.
Labour will be hoping to return to power after four years in opposition, facing a bitter, and at times personal, rivalry with the Lib Dems.
More announcements are on their way and there are already rumours Labour will pick up another three seats from the party in Wembley Central.
