LABOUR are heading for a dramatic win in the local Brent elections with big scalps going in both the Tory and Lib Dem camps.
Bob Wharton, the Lib Dem education boss who oversaw the Copland Community School bonus scandal and the Wembley Park Academy row, has lost his seat.
So has Tory Irwin Van Colle and Labour's tally has already reached 30 with more seats still to be declared.
The Lib Dems were sitting on 27 seats, with a majority of six, but have been struck by significant losses.
A Labour win is now a foregone conclusion, the only questions being by how much and with what other big name casualties.
Barry Gardiner says this is the real win for the party while Councillor Jim Moher says “this is historic. We are knocking down timber here that hasn't been knocked.”
