YOUNG people in a volunteering programme are organising a talent contest in Harrow.
Khalid O'Beirne and Kevin Muyula, both part of the vTalent scheme, are organising Shooting Stars to give teenagers in the borough more to do in their free time.
They will be helped by other volunteers from the programme, who will work as stewards, promoters and judges at the event, on Monday, February 21, at Byron Hall, in Harrow Leisure Centre, at 6pm.
DJ Quincy, from Choice FM, will present the evening and there will be a live performance by rapper Dotstar.
Khalid, 19, said: “My colleague and I saw a gap in Harrow that there wasn't much for young people who have talents like music and dancing.
“My friend has experience in setting up events and we both do youth work, so we thought we should set up something big with the young people.”
Auditions will be held at the Wealdstone Centre, from 4pm to 8pm on Wednesday, February 16.
