COLOMBIAN drug dealers who made a £1 million cocaine deal in an Edgware supermarket car park have been jailed.
Cesar-Augusto Londono-Alvarez, 52, and Cesar Guevara, 43, were sentenced to a total of 16 years and eight months in jail at Southwark Crown Court on Friday for the drugs swap in the Lidl car park in High Street in July last year.
Police from the Serious and Organised Crime unit watched Mr Londono-Alvarez, of Scout Way, give a carrier bag to Mr Guevara, who then put the bag into his Vauxhall Astra and drove away.
Police stopped the car and found five kilograms of cocaine with a street value of £1.35 million wrapped in plastic and newspaper in the boot of the car.
After searches at properties uncovered another kilogram of cocaine, as well as cutting equipment and scales, both men pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine. Mr Londono-Alvarez was sentenced to eight years and eight months, while Mr Guevara received eight years.
Claudia Villa-Bustamnte, who was arrested in the car with Mr Guevara, was found not guilty.
