BRENT could get funding for new cycling hubs under a scheme run by the London mayor.
The borough is one of 13 in London eligible to apply for cash from a £4 million pot as City Hall tries to promote greener transport.
Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London, said: “I promised a cycling revolution for the whole of London.
“This funding will enable our friends in Brent to develop exciting ways to make cycling bloom in their borough making it easier to replace some short car journeys with pedal power.
“I want people in outer boroughs like Brent to be breathing better quality air on less congested roads and we all want an economic boost to our local shops and town centres.”
Brent was made a biking borough last year and given £25,000 to develop its cycling strategy.
All 13 eligible local authorities will be sent application forms today.
