A RUISLIP teenager has been jailed over a crash that killed a “bright star” from Pinner.
Alex Jaggs, 19, was jailed for five years at Southwark Crown Court for causing the death of Jack King, 17, of Cranbourne Drive, by dangerous driving.
Jaggs was driving a Ford Fiesta Zetec in Elm Avenue, Ruislip, when he crashed and hit a tree at around 11pm in May last year.
Jack was killed instantly, while Jaggs and two other passengers survived with injuries.
More than 1,000 shocked friends flocked to a tribute group set up on social networking website Facebook after the crash, where one described him as a “bright star”.
After the sentencing, at Southwark Crown Court on Friday, Fiona May posted: “The sentence is pitiful in comparison to the sentence given out to your family and friends on 7th May 2010.”
