BORIS Johnson and the father of killed teen Damilola Taylor will discuss youth violence in Brent next week.
The Community Conversation are designed to get residents involved in the debate on street crime and there will be opportunities for anyone involved to have their say.
Richard Taylor, Damilola's father, is on an advisory group taking part in the event, to be held at Capital City Academy, in Doyle Gardens, Willesden, on Wednesday, March 2.
The discussion will be based partly on Mr Johnson's plan Time for Action launched in November, 2008, after the deaths of 27 young people on London's streets in the first 11 months of that year.
At the time of the launch, Mr Johnson said: “Of course we need to be tough on any kind of criminal activity, and there is no substitute for strong policing solutions.
“But we also need to recognise that there are huge opportunities to help these youngsters, before their lives go irretrievably wrong.”
To take part in the discussion visit www.london.gov.uk/ccp or call 0207 983 4100.
Registration on the day is at 5.30pm, with a 6.30pm start, and the evening is scheduled to end at 8.30pm.
