ORGANISERS of a huge internet campaign that gained support of national celebrities to find a missing teenager are celebrating after she was found.
Jade James, 13, was returned safe and well to her family in Harrow on Monday after being missing for nearly three weeks.
The teenager's disappearance sparked a massive social networking and poster campaign into action, with top comedians Bill Bailey and Chris Addison among those who posted about her on Twitter in a bid to find her.
The tag #jadejames became one of the most popular topics on the site over the weekend as users from all over the UK joined in the campaign to find her.
And thousands of people repeated the message: “#JadeJames - 13yr old - Missing since 4th Feb from Harrow/London. Please help find her”.
More than 800 people joined a Facebook group to raise awareness of Jade, including friends of the teenager's family.
Sarah Owen, one of the creators of the group, said: “We had people from all over offering their support and prayers. I think the furthest I noted was a lady who lived in Boston, Lincolnshire who joined on Saturday morning.
“There was a previous group which had only 150 people which were mainly students from school who filled it with just speculation and rumours.
“So we started this group so we could organise and co-ordinate with people from all over London and the surrounding areas.
“None of us are related to Jade or her family, we only knew her mum from when she went to Cedars youth group with our children.
“It was very heart warming to see the local community come together like that but even more so for to have many from further afield do what they could as well.”
Police officers had said they thought Jade was with a man she met at Piccadilly Circus station the day after her disappearance, but she is now back with her family.
