Anybody using the High Street in Pinner, during the evening, cannot fail to notice the peculiar phenomenon of reversing cars, often at unreasonable speed.
Indeed, you will see more going backwards than forwards.
More alarming though, is the frequency of confrontation, caused by motorists coming head to head in this congested area.
A whole range of emotions, from frustration to outright road rage, are commonplace. The ferocity of these encounters, and the foul, abusive language are astounding. It is only a matter of time before somebody gets seriously injured, or killed.
The options to overcoming this problem have been debated for some time, without conclusion. The simplest and most cost effective solution would be to make the High Street, one way only, with humps to prevent speeding.
To do nothing, is not an option.
