I see that the OCD-Labour council is creating a new scapegoat to blame for their inability to deal with Harrow’s finances and how “children could suffer” or whatever, to divert attention.

And the latest bogeymen being set up to take the blame? Step forward the approximately 2,000 “census dodgers”, (yah boo hiss), who may/perhaps/possibly/could have “deprived” Harrow of “up to £14 million” in “lost” funding by not filling in the form.

This is well under one per cent of a population of approximately 220,000, not forgetting those who are here illegally or in the black-economy and therefore not even on the census radar. This figure is a statistical instrument, a guess, to whip up “outrage”.

Short of declaring a curfew, sending in thousands of troops and police to search every house, flat, shop, office, shed and hideyhole, we will never have a full census. This is a despicable but par for the course tactic, and if any racial group had been targeted as have census dodgers (boooo), the council would rightly be called racist.

The census was originally devised as a snapshot to count the approximate population and to look at living conditions on one day, and that is all. The last OCD-Labour government was obsessed with databases, information, power and control, and who made it far more intrusive (their words).

The census in a free country can never be 100 per cent, ever, and we are sick and tired of being bullied, threatened and pushed around by officials hiding behind threats of court, sanctions and OCD-Labour’s all-time favourite, their famous £1,000 fines. We are in Britain, not the fly blown hell-holes that OCD-Labour wish to twin with and apparently emulate.

Harrow got the third best settlement in London. Perhaps instead of looking for scapegoats and using the census dodger (hisssss) bogeymen to divert attention from their lack of financial abilities, OCD-Labour need look no further than the £27 million being squandered on computers and IT and more on new directors and non-jobs instead of on the “suffering children”, our libraries and potholed (again) roads.

For mine and my family’s part, we will as last time, fill in who is in the house, number of rooms and facilities. But there are tens of thousands of us, once used as scapegoats, for whom history has taught to never, ever, fill in any religious, ethnic, sexual and/or financial databases that serve only to empower bureaucrats.

I urge everyone to obey the law, tempered with their own consciences.
