VOLUNTEERS have been given an award after pitching in with an international campaign for the eradication of polio.
The Rotary Club of Northwick Park has been praised for its contribution to a bid to generate $100m which will then be matched by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for the Eradication of Polio.
The foundation hopes to make polio the second virus, after small pox, to be eradicated by mankind.
Pushpinder Wadhwa, president elect of the rotary club, said: “We would like to thank the residents of Harrow, without their generosity we would not have achieved the award.”
