DOG walkers could be forced to keep their pets on leads in certain areas of green space in Brent.
Dogs will not be allowed off their leads in three smaller parks, Brondesbury Villas, Kimberley Road and Villiers Road, or in the bedding areas of Brent's three Green Flag parks, as well as the cricket pitches and wickets.
Councillor James Powney, Brent's lead member for environment and cultural services, said: “It's important to remember these measures are merely proposals at the moment which we are consulting with park users about and even if they come into force, dog owners in Brent will still be able to let their dogs walk off the lead in 90 per cent of the green space available in the borough.”
Under the proposals, the number of dogs any one person can walk in Brent parks would be limited to six.
Cllr Powney said: “Limiting the number of dogs one person can walk will, we hope, alleviate this problem.
“We are also extending the existing byelaws to continue to exclude dogs from children's playareas, tennis courts and bowling greens.”
A consultation on the proposals starts on Monday, March 28, and ends on Friday, April 29.
