THE jury has been sent out in the case of a Harrow pensioner accused of slavery.
Saeeda Khan, 68, has been accused of leaving Mwanahanisi Mruke to sleep in the cold on a thin mattress, keeping her prisoner in her house and depriving her of food.
She claims The 47-year-old Tanzanian was “smiling, happy and cheerful” in her Whitmore Road home and denies one count of trafficking people for exploitation.
The jury, at Southwark Crown Court, were sent out this afternoon.
