A BRENT sports pitch will be restored with a £47,000 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Mason's Field, a former London Transport staff sports ground, in Fryent Country Park, will get a make over and work is due to begin in late summer or early autumn.
The money will also be used to develop a countryside awareness course.
Sean Faulkner, head of Brent Parks Service, said: “We are thrilled to receive this much-needed funding to enable us to give Mason's Field the care and attention it rightly deserves and improve the publics' access to this picturesque and often overlooked open space.
“I am also delighted that we can now go ahead with our plans to develop a countryside awareness course for visitors which is something that we have had lots of requests for from the public but until now haven't been able to provide.”
