THREE Harrow green spaces have been handed the highest standard in Boris Johnson's Safer Parks Awards.
Canons Park, Harrow Recreation Ground and Roxeth Recreation Ground were all among just 12 across the capital given Gold status under the mayor of London's new scheme.
The awards are handed to residents' groups who help maintain the open spaces and are being treated by Harrow Council as a reflection on its own efforts.
Councillor Phillip O'Dell, responsible for environment and community safety, said: “These awards are a credit to everyone from the Council’s grounds maintenance staff and police safer neighbourhoods teams, to the residents who volunteer their time and take great pride in improving our green spaces.”
