AN ART competition with a community theme has been launched to raise money for two charities in the area.
Interiors shop, Lines of Pinner, is launching the competition to raise money for charities Kids Can Achieve and Friends of Michael Sobell House.
The competition has an art and a photography category based on the theme of community.
A special prize will be given for the best depiction of Pinner.
Both winners and runners-ups will be featured in an exhibition and have their work published in a competition book.
Kids Can Achieve, based in Pinner Green, supports children with special needs and their carers. They are due to move to larger premises, Cedars Hall in Harrow Weald, and money donated from the competition will be used to fund an art room for the children.
Friends of Michael Sobell House supports the work of the Michael Sobell House unit, at Mount Vernon Hospital.
Event organiser Kara Lines said: “With Lines of Pinner having been part of the community for over 127 years, we wanted to celebrate and encourage local talent and in turn give something back to the community through two very worthy causes.”
The competition will run until May 7 with an exhibition to take place in June. For more information on how to enter, visit www.linesofpinner.co.uk/competition or contact Kara on 020 8866 2462.
