A SCHEME designed to protect residents needing social housing from sub standard accommodation has been showcased to professionals from across the country.
Through Help2Let Harrow Council acts as a lettings agent, putting potential tenants in touch with it's choice of private landlords who pay a cut-price fee for the service.
The scheme is offered to people on the waiting list for social housing and was presented to a national audience on Friday.
Councillor Bob Currie, responsible for housing, said: "Everyone deserves to live in a decent home and this scheme is about finding quality accommodation for some of our least well off residents."
