INDIA cricket fans have taken over Queensbury circle with fireworks, dhol drums, flags and vuvuzelas showing their joy at winning the World Cup final.
Numerous cars have become trapped on the road, surrounded by ecstatic fans who draped flags over the bonnets and several supporters even climbed on top of buses as they waited to get through the crowd.
Fireworks have been bursting overhead virtually non-stop and one daring supporter climbed a pole outside Queensbury tube station to tie an India flag to the top of it.
Jeetesh Hirani, 25, of nearby Beverley Drive, said: "It's crazy at the moment. We're feeling absolutely crazy. India won the World Cup which is a big thing for us.
"Pakistan was a big match for us but winning the World Cup is even bigger - it's the biggest achievement.
"That's why you see all the people going crazy, fireworks going off, people drinking, people enjoying themselves. That's what you don't see anywhere else.
"This will go on till midnight."
