A WEMBLEY drug dealer has been sentenced to seven years in prison for possession of a gun.

Dean Bennett, 24, from St Johns Road, was sentenced to seven years imprisonment for possession of a firearm, possession with intent to supply class B drugs and possession of cannabis at Harrow Crown Court last Wednesday.

His brother Micah Bennett, 25, of the same address, was sentenced to 21 months imprisonment for possession of cannabis and with intent to supply Class B drugs.

The brothers were arrested by police on May 18 last year after a search warrant issued for their home address.

A large quantity of cannabis, together with cash and ammunition for a handgun were found.

Another search warrant was issued on January 24 and a large amount of cannabis and a BBM pistol together with ammunition was found.

Both men pleaded guilty to the charges on March 29.

Sergeant Neil Tulloch from Wembley Central Neighbourhoods Team said: “This operation was in direct response to intelligence provided by the local community through our Safer Neighbhourhoods Teams and to intelligence provided to local officers.

“The operation targets those people believed to be involved in a range of crime including firearms and drug dealing offences.

“We hope the convictions demonstrate that with the help and support of the community we can take action against those who believe they are above the law.

“I urge that anyone who has experience criminal activities in this area, drug related or otherwise should contact their local safer neighbourhoods team.”
