HARROW Museum will be holding a medieval anniversary celebration on May Day to mark 25 years at the historic site.
Falcon displays, a knight’s tournament, jesters and jugglers are some of the festivities lined up for the May Day celebrations.
Free tours of the historic Manor House, Headstone Manor, in Pinner View, built in 1310 will be available and the Medieval Combat Society will be on hand to showcase a knight’s tournament.
Harrow Council’s portfolio holder for community and cultural services, Councillor Rekha Shah, said: “The May Day events at Harrow Museum are a great opportunity for all the community to come together to mark the day.
“The museum is a great asset to Harrow and the May Day celebration is the perfect opportunity to visit. Events like this one help to build on the already strong sense of community in the borough.”
Harrow Museum's other historic listed buildings will also be open to the public during May Day.
The 500-year-old Tithe Barn currently hosts the Let's Play exhibition, which uses the museum's collection of toys to show how play has changed through the ages.
The gates open at 12pm and close at 5pm. The museum is usually free to the public during opening hours but an entrance fee will be charged on May Day of £4 for adults, £2 for concessions and 12 to 16-year-olds and children under 12 going in for free.
