CHURCHILL and Dowding could be used as address names in a housing development on the grounds of a cherished former RAF base.
Barratt Homes is planning to build luxury houses at Bentley Priory, in The Common, Stanmore, once home to Fighter Command during World War Two.
The company has started holding discussions on what it should call residential addresses at the site, and some of the leading figures connected to the base have been drawn on for inspiration.
More subtle ideas were also suggested and the debate is still open, with the developer inviting residents to take part.
Gary Ennis, the company's southern regional managing director, said: “We take our role in helping to ensure that Bentley Priory is cherished forever very seriously, and plan to hold further discussion groups as the exciting plans continue to evolve.
“We would welcome anyone who wants to be involved in these groups or just wish to be kept up to date with our progress to get in touch.”
Anyone who wants to take part in the discussion groups can contact Rachel Colgan on 07795 126 562 or email rachel.colgan@barratthomes.co.uk.
