LIBRARY campaigners took to the streets on Saturday morning to demonstrate against potential closures.
The campaigners marched from South Kenton to Kingsbury Road in protest at the closure of Preston Library.
They were joined on the hour-long march by Liberal Democrat and Conservatives party councillors, along with Green Party candidate Shahrar Ali.
In april, Brent Council announced plans to shut six of the borough's 12 libraries.
Campaigners launched the Brent SOS (Save our Six) Libraries campaign against the council's decision to close Preston, Barham Park, Tokyngton, Cricklewood, Kensal Rise and Neasden libraries.
Brent SOS Libraries sought a judicial review arguing the decision was "flawed" as it failed to assess local needs and the impact of the closures. A three-day judicial review was held at the High Court in August.
Last month, the High Court decision ruled the libraries would not be saved, but campaigners were told they could appeal against the ruling.
Two weeks ago, Lord Justice Elias said the process to hear the case in the Court of Appeal should be fast-tracked and the case will now be at the Court of Appeal this Thursday and Friday.
Shahrar Ali, Green Party Candidate for the London Assembly for Brent and Harrow, was at the march.
He said: "Young and old, local and borough-wide, political and politicised came together to march to Preston Library and beyond.
"We were united in our abhorrence of these closure and defiant in our common goal to get them reinstated."
