A mystery lottery winner from Harrow is sitting on £1million after the prize went unclaimed.
The secret millionaire won the cash in the EuroMillions Millionair Raffle on the opening night of the Olympic Games, which broke the world record for millionaires made in one draw.
So far 93 winners have received their money, but one of the seven tickets still to be claimed was bought in the borough. The ticketholder has until 11pm on January 23 to make a claim.
In a statement, the National Lottery said: “We urge every player to check their tickets as they could be one of our missing millionaires.
“The clock is now ticking for this ticketholder and we want to be presenting them with their giant cheque so they can start enjoying their win as soon as possible.
“Check down the back of the sofa or in your coat pockets - the ticket could be lurking anywhere. This draw has already broken a world record and we hope to push it as high as possible.”
Players have 180 days from the day of the draw to claim their prize if they have the winning ticket.
If no one comes forward with the winning ticket before the prize claim deadline, the prize money plus all the interest it has generated will go to good causes – adding to the £28billion already raised through sales of lottery tickets since the National Lottery launched in November 1994.
