Horses were saved by firefighters from a huge Pinner blaze which destroyed a barn and 100 tonnes of straw and hay last night.
The animals in fields and stables in Joel Street were protected by fire crews and police while they tackled the fire in the road, which started at just after 10.45pm.
Two people who escaped from the barn were treated for smoke inhalation.
It took firefighters more than three hours to control the blaze, and they remained at the scene throughout the night to dampen down the remnants of the barn to make sure it did not reignite.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
