Three men have been charged with the murder of a Wembley man shot dead in Bournemouth last month.
The men, aged 22, 24, and 33, are accused of the murder of Reece James Menzies, 21, who was shot in the face in a flat in Roumelia Lane, in the Boscombe area of the town, on July 25, in what detectives described as a “gangland-style” killing.
The trio were arrested in dawn raids in south London and Folkestone, Kent, on Tuesday morning, and will appear at Bournemouth Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning.
Reece’s mother, Michelle James, told the Harrow Times last week how her son was a “mummy’s boy” who could not be part of the Church Road Soldiers gang that operates in Harlesden.
She described him as a “loving son” who had welcomed his baby daughter Takayla into the world on May 12 with his girlfriend.
Detective Chief Inspector Kevin Connolly, of Dorset Police, said: “The three men have been in custody for the last 72 hours and they have all been interviewed at length.
“We have presented details of these interviews as well as evidence gathered over the past month to the Crown Prosecution Service, with whom we have worked closely.”
In the days after the murder, police described it as a “premeditated and targeted attack” and attempted to reassure residents in the area.
