Hundreds of people gathered at Headstone Manor on Saturday for a community event to celebrate the end of Ramadan.

The Eid4All event, in its second year, included bouncy castles, fairground rides and laser tag for children while showcasing Asian food, toys and games between 12-9pm.

The idea behind the festival, which was held in the grounds of the old Kodak building in Harrow View last year, is to bring Muslims and non-Muslims together to promote community cohesion.

It is run not-for-profit by a group of local people, with any money made being donated to local charities for children with disabilities.

Councillor Husain Akhtar, who was at the event, said the good weather had contributed to “a lovely gathering”.

He added: “There was a very pleasant atmosphere throughout, and there was a fire engine which was very well enjoyed by the children.”
