It’s game on for the Watford & Northwest London Business Awards with companies throughout the area competing to pick up an accolade at the big awards ceremony at the prestigious Emirates Stadium.
There is still time to enter the 2007 Watford and Northwest London Business Awards which will culminate on June 22 with a glittering awards ceremony at the Emirates Stadium, home to Arsenal football club.
The Awards, a showcase for talent and achievement in the local business community, are now in their seventh year and have grown in stature and reputation to become the region’s top business competition.
Any business or individual operating in Watford and Northwest London can enter the Awards – or can be nominated by a boss, colleague, customer or supplier for any of the seven categories: Growing Business; Innovation; Small Business of the Year; Entrepreneur; International Trade & Export; Success Through People; Business of the Year.
Judged by WENTA Business Services and the Watford and West Herts Chamber of Commerce, the 2007 Awards have attracted sponsorship from some of the country’s most successful and exciting businesses including: accountancy giant BDO Stoy Hayward; the Royal Bank of Scotland; Lombard Direct; Alliotts, the chartered accountants and business advisors; SA Law, the specialist business legal advisers; and Coutts, the leading private bank.
Last year’s winners include Sir Gulam Noon of food company Noon Products, who won Business Person of the Year, and Freedom Communications which was voted Business of the Year.
The entry process is straightforward and can be completed online or by contacting Purple Patch Events). And with extensive media coverage given to the awards, winners and finalists enjoy publicity and recognition.
The VIP ceremony at the Emirates Stadium will cater in style for 400 people, including sponsors, past winners and the media. Following last year’s hugely-successful event, the organisers are anticipating massive interest in the 2007 Awards – so interested parties are advised to get their entries in as soon as possible.
This year’s awards were launched at a business breakfast organised by Watford Chamber of Commerce at Watford FC’s Vicarage Road Stadium.
A past winner, Spencer Tagg who won the small business of the year award in 2004, addressed the networking meeting and encouraged companies to take part. He said: “Winning the award was a moment of great pride for me. The ceremony was like being at the Oscars in our own little world of Watford.
“We got some great PR following the award in the Watford Observer. Winning the awards was a great moment for me and a great moment for my staff, rewarding them all for the hard work they had put in.
“But it was also great for for the business. My advice is, if you are thinking of having a go, have a go.”
The breakfast was also used to unveil one of the competition’s new sponsors, SA Law.
SA LAW’s Managing partner Steve Ryan said: “We are delighted to sponsor the Watford and North West London Award for Innovation. An increasingly competitive environment has forced innovation to the top of the agenda.
“While innovative products and services are still paramount, forward-thinking organisations have started to innovate business processes and models to achieve differentiation, unlock opportunities and enhance profits.”
