Wealdstone manager Gordon Bartlett knows his side will have to be at their best to beat Ashford Town on Boxing Day.

The Stones face a difficult trip to their rivals, ahead of a derby clash on Monday with Harrow Borough, as they look to maintain their play-off challenge.

Bartlett said: "Ashford have a new manager and are a side with plenty of pace going forward.

"The two guys up front have got pace and are a real handful but if we can get at them I think we can nick some points."

After two more matches were postponed this week, Wealdstone face a busy run of games heading into the new year but Bartlett is not worried about it derailing their promotion challenge.

"There was nothing we could do about it," he admitted. "We have to keep our fitness and spirit levels up and continue that over Christmas. We have three important derbies coming up but we don't have a divine right to win any of them.

"The majority of the dodgy weather normally doesn't kick in until January or February and we already have a fixture pileup. We will have to deal with it as best we can but our fitness is not a million miles away and we will have to use the squad wisely."
