Two goals from Billy Gibson fired Wealdstone to a 2-1 win over rivals Harrow Borough at Grosvenor Vale yesterday.
The midfielder, on loan from Watford, proved the difference as the Stones continued their excellent form in recent years over their neighbours.
The home side took the lead in the 21st minute when Kwasi Frempong fouled Gibson in the area. The talented 19-year-old picked himself up and fired in the penalty to break the deadlock.
But the visitors equalised five minutes before the break when Rocky Baptiste set up Dean Fenton who found the target.
The Stones scored the all-important second goal seven minutes after the restart when Gibson cut inside and managed to scramble an effort into the net.
Boro thought they had levelled the derby midway through the half when Dewayne Clarke buried a header but it was ruled out for offside. The visitors kept pushing but Wealdstone held out for the honours in another tight contest.
