Harrow Borough earned their third consecutive Ryman Premier win after beating Tooting and Mitcham 2-0 on Tuesday night.
A 25-yard strike from Rocky Baptiste and a first-half effort from Kurt Morlese kept Boro firmly in contention for a play-off place.
Boro manager David Howell said: “It was encouraging and it keeps us up with the chasing pack.
“To have not conceded a goal in three games also gives a lot of confidence to the side.
“I thought it was a very good performance considering the injuries and changes we made to the team.”
Boro battled to their first win over AFC Hornchurch since 1977 after a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Earlsmead on Saturday.
Wayne Walters grabbed the winner at the end of the first half but the hosts were stung by a fourth red card of the season for Danny Leech.
Due to his sending off against Wealdstone, the 26-year-old will sit out four more games having already missed Tuesday’s match.
Howell fumed: “It was a ridiculous decision. The ball has gone too far so the player has dived and the referee has bought it.
“He has been harshly dealt with and it’s unfortunate that he has been the one on the end of it. It’s a big blow for us but we just have to get on with it.”
Boro face a quick turnaround this weekend when they travel to play Tooting again before a midweek game against Bury Town.
