Wealdstone striker Scott Fitzgerald has left the club.

The former Watford forward was signed by the Stones two years ago from Hayes and Yeading United and netted 31 goals in 43 appearances.

Wealdstone boss Gordon Bartlett said: “We are very sorry to see Scott leave us.

“Scott has been a model professional and has provided a very positive contribution to the team and the dressing room over the past couple of seasons where he was highly regarded by the management team and all the players.

“We understand his reasons for leaving and wish him all the very best in whatever he chooses to do in the future.”

Meanwhile, summer signing Ries Stanislaus has been loaned out to Chalfont St Peter FC to retain his match sharpness. Ries scored twice on his debut for the Saints at the weekend.

Wealdstone were held to a 1-1 draw at home to big spending Whitehawk in the Ryman Premier last weekend.

The hosts got off to a slow start and Whitehawk took the lead when Josh Jones lashed home the opener.

Wealdstone came more into the contest as the half went on and they grabbed the equaliser in stoppage time.

Lee Chappell picked up the ball 20 yards from goal and he curled a superb effort beyond the dive of Chris Winterton.

The visitors finished the game with nine men but Wealdstone were unable to take advantage of this and grab a winner.

Sammy El-Abd was stretchered off ten minutes from the end and Whitehawk had already used all three substitutes. It got even worse for them when replacement Ryan James received a second yellow for kicking the ball away.
